Strawberry Fields Forever
Strawberry season has begun and if you live even remotely near upstate South Carolina, you must make the drive to Strawberry Hill U.S.A. in Chesnee.
I have never tasted a sweeter, juicier strawberry. I imagine a large reason for this taste sensation is the fact that these strawberries aren’t picked, packaged and shipped from clear across the country before I get to eat them.
This family-owned local farm has 75 acres dedicated to growing strawberries. An overflowing bucketful is only $11. We had them tonight with German pancakes (if you’ve ever read this blog before you know I love German pancakes) but these strawberries are so scrumptious you can eat them plain.
Check out their website at www.strawberryhillusa.com for directions or more information. Strawberry season is only April through May but you can enjoy their peaches from June – September. Visit Strawberry Hill U.S.A. or your local farm soon so you can enjoy fresh-picked strawberries. You won’t be able to go back to that plastic carton from California ever again!
