Best Money I've Spent Lately
I have been researching sand/water tables for a while now. Jocelyn started preschool this year and the sandbox quickly became her favorite outdoor activity on the playground. She insists on taking her shoes off in the car to shake the sand out on the way home. Sometimes she’ll even have sand in the part of her hair!
I like the concept of the sand table since at least they don’t sit in it, so I started researching months ago. My girls’ birthdays are in February and March- not quite warm enough weather to buy them an outside toy for a gift. Fortunately, we received more of a tax refund than I expected (and my husband was very generous and let me actually have about half of it to spend on whatever I wanted) so I went for it.
My original research was limited to Amazon. Even if I don’t buy from Amazon, I search and read the reviews to narrow down products. After selecting what I wanted, I decided to go directly to the manufacturer ’s web site where I got a cheaper price and free shipping.
I’ve only had the table for a couple of days but it is the best 80 bucks I’ve spent in a long time. My girls absolutely love it. It feels so good to be out in the beautiful weather. The table comes with an umbrella and a cover that fits tightly. It has a couple of boats, buckets and a shovel. I added some of our other sand toys to the mix and they are having a blast with it.
A common complaint I read among reviews was that “the water and sand get mixed together!” (What did you expect?) The first time my girls played with it, they went directly to the sand side, scooped some out and dumped it on the water side. It is extremely messy, but I am looking forward to hours of summer fun!
The Sand and Water Activity Center is a Step2® favorite loaded with Sand and Water action, including two bridges, ramps, cups, and boats, as well as an umbrella and molded cover. An elevated play space means less sand or water on your children’s clothes and a more accessible surface for all.

I have seen those and love them. The boys would have a blast. I may have to purchase something like that! As it is, we just got AJ a train table for his birthday, which both kids enjoy, but that may be on our wish list!
