Haven

My Journey Toward a Home-haven

I know that making my home a haven involves getting rid of what I no longer need, use or enjoy. I often get the urge to purge, but I lack the motivation to do so during my limited free time. I know what Flylady would say… 15 minute intervals. I bought the timers and I started the Control Journal. It just didn’t stick with me. I felt like I was doing someone else’s system, even though she encourages people to make it their own.

Because I do truly believe that clutter in the home = clutter in the head, I am taking a honest look at my problem areas and resolving to do something about them. If my goal is to make my home a haven, then every room should have at least some small haven-like quality. How else will the home as a whole be a haven if each room isn’t a mini-haven?

Posts in the homemaking category on the right will chronicle some of my attempts toward creating and maintaining a home-haven.
