Recovering the Spirit of Christmas

December 20, 2018November 20, 2018Leave a comment

It's the most wonderful time of the year - until December 26th comes around and you're broke, overwhelmed and discontent...AGAIN. How are we to be content in a culture that says we need more stuff to be happy and fulfilled?  Honestly, one of my biggest weaknesses is greed. I am always looking to social media to … Continue reading Recovering the Spirit of Christmas

Lemon Christmas Sugar Cookies

December 13, 2018December 14, 2018Leave a comment

Making sugar cookies was always one of my top favorite Christmas traditions as a kid. Any kind was good, but the ones that topped them all where my Grandma's lemon sugar cookies. They were the perfect combination of soft and firm, and the little bit of citrus tang made the sweetness of the frosting even … Continue reading Lemon Christmas Sugar Cookies

12 Days of Christmas for your S.O.

Buying gifts for men can be incredibly difficult. I don't know how men feel about buying for us ladies, but I have a hunch that we are much easier (Guys, correct me if I'm wrong on this)! Thankfully, this idea can be used for either gender. I always struggle with finding the perfect gift, but … Continue reading 12 Days of Christmas for your S.O.

Silent Night, Holy Night

December 25, 2017July 14, 2018Leave a comment

It is so still, I can feel my heart pulsing through my body with each strong beat. All the noises of my house are louder than normal, but the buzzes and creaks are comforting. What a long weekend it has been. My husband got the flu (or something), my baby has been needy and not having … Continue reading Silent Night, Holy Night

Christmas Gift Ideas For The Broke Mom

December 7, 2017December 12, 20181 Comment

Ahhh, Christmas. That beautiful time of the year when we celebrate the birth of our Savior, time with family and friends, delicious feasts and treats, & spending an insane amount of money on unnecessary crap that everyone is just going to forget about a month later. I have a love-hate relationship with Christmas. On one … Continue reading Christmas Gift Ideas For The Broke Mom

Advent: A Time Of Anticipation

December 2, 2017July 14, 2018Leave a comment

The tree is up, the lights are strung, my list of Christmas gifts begun. All the jolly songs are full of fun, playing loudly as the stockings are hung. My brain is overwhelmed with things to do, people to see and lots of food - a season with hundreds of stores to peruse, as we … Continue reading Advent: A Time Of Anticipation

He finally got his Uncle Joe 😂 But Brenna would be angry if I didn’t mention that she’s the one he fell asleep on. 😊 I officially said goodbye to my baby boy. This month we weaned off of bottles, he’s started saying literally every word he hears, he is independent and does so many big boy things, started wearing 2T... There might have been tears from both mama and baby while he got trimmed, but oh my gosh he’s so handsome ❤️😭 Where did my little baby go?! Super Bowl moments I forgot to share. Chugging some Mountain Dew and very first selfies with Kaity 😂 He fell asleep reading a book. He’s definitely mine. 😍 He had a meltdown because I tried to spoon feed him chicken and noodles. He’s so satisfied. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He never stops moving. Until daddy is outside working...then he’s plastered to the window in total awe. The last one he was saying “where’s dada?” When he walked out of vision 😂
