5 Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

I don’t know about you, but chocolate chip cookies are my thing. I can’t resist them. Even if they are a little too done, a little too flat, or a little too gooey (is there such a thing?)… I have to have at least two. Every time.

Depending on my mood, I usually want some different types of chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes I’m in the mood for small and chewy. Sometimes I like the greasy, big, flat ones. Sometimes I just want the perfect hot, gooey goodness. Sometimes I need a little crunch.

No matter what your hankering may be, here are my top 5 favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes and I guarantee one of them will satisfy your chocolate cravings today!

BIG & CHEWY

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 Tbsp vanilla 

1 egg + 1 yolk

2-3 cups chocolate chips 

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream together the melted butter, brown sugar & white sugar. Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until creamy. Mix in the flour, baking soda & salt until just blended. Fold in the chocolate chips. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours-overnight. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cook for 8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. 

SOFT & FLUFFY

1/2 cup butter 

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs 

2 tsp vanilla 

2 cups flour 

1 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

2-3 cups chocolate chips 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter & sugars. Add egg & vanilla. Stir in flour, soda & salt. Mix in chocolate chips. Bake 11-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. 

CRUNCHY

2 sticks butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla

2 eggs + 1 egg yolk

2 3/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt 

2-3 cups chocolate chips 

Cream together butter & sugars. Beat in eggs, egg yolk & vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover dough tightly and refrigerate for 24 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are crispy. 

GOOEY

cookies

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla 

2 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp cream of tartar

1/2 tsp salt 

2 tsp baking soda 

2-3 cups chocolate chips 

Preheat oven to 375. Cream together sugars, butter & shortening. Beat in egg & vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. 

DENSE & CHEWY

3/4 cup butter, melted & cooled

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 Tbsp vanilla

1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk

2 cups flour 

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt 

2 cups chocolate chips 

Preheat oven to 325. Cream butter & sugars. Beat in vanilla, egg & egg yolk. Mix in flour, baking soda & salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake 11-14 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
