About Me

Jun 21st, 2008 by CEO | 0

Here is a recipe for a sauce that is great for grilled chicken. It originated from the Weber Gas Grill Cookbook that came with our grill. This tasty sauce has served us well at family get-togethers and parties over the years. Yes, it’s so good that we have been making it for years… 6 to [...]

Raspberry French Toast

May 13th, 2008 by CEO | 3

The full title of this delicious breakfast is Raspberry-Stuffed French Toast with Custard Sauce. I’m thinking about making this one on our beach vacation with my family. My husband usually does the breakfast cooking while I’m still in the bed. Wait a minute… no, that’s not a good idea. I will let him handle breakfast. [...]

Muffin Meatloaves

May 8th, 2008 by CEO | 0

The original recipe is called “Marvelous Mini Meatloaves”. Kraft Food & Family is always using unnecessary adjectives in their recipe titles. I need something that I can remember, so I usually give their recipes simpler titles before adding them to my collection. With that said, the modified version of Marvelous Mini Meatloaves is below.
The only [...]

Chicken Ranch Pizza

May 3rd, 2008 by CEO | 0

Chicken Ranch Pizza is based on a recipe from Allrecipes.com. The original recipe is called Gourmet Chicken Pizza but I prefer to call it Chicken Ranch Pizza. I like naming my food something that makes sense, that way I’m more likely to remember it. After all, “gourmet” could mean anything. If adding ranch makes a [...]

Italian Sausage Charlotte

Feb 11th, 2008 by CEO | 0

When you want something other than chicken for dinner, this is a nice recipe to try. We had it tonight at book club. Instead of making dinner for my family as well as snacks for book club, I decided to make this casserole to serve everyone. It serves 8. You could pair it with a [...]

The Forgotten Favorite of German Pancakes

Feb 4th, 2008 by CEO | 2

I’ve recently taken up making German pancakes for breakfast. It all started at Thanksgiving when we had this tasty treat at my in-laws. They say the family has been eating these for years but somehow after more than 5 years of marriage, I’d never had a German pancake! In their defense, we don’t actually eat [...]

Pineapple Pretzel Salad

Dec 11th, 2007 by CEO | 1

I always say I need to rename this recipe because it in no way, even remotely, resembles a salad. I bring it to nearly every church function and people have come to know it by this name, so Pineapple Pretzel Salad it shall remain.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
2 cups pretzels; crushed
2 sticks butter; softened
12 ounces whip cream
12 [...]

Oatmeal Cake with Peanut Butter Icing

Sep 1st, 2007 by CEO | 0

It had been a while since I tasted my mom’s oatmeal cake with peanut butter icing. We were having our annual church-wide fellowship, so I decided to make it since I had all of the ingredients. I knew the cake would conjure up childhood memories, but when I smelled the icing melting onto that hot [...]

Earthquake Cake

Aug 21st, 2007 by CEO | 0

Here’s one of those cakes that gets better with age. There’s something about those pecans and coconut hanging out together in the bottom of the pan for a day that is just delicious. I’ve known people to say “I don’t like coconut” but this cake changes their minds. The cream cheese/butter/powdered sugar combination is ugly [...]

Bruschetta Squares

Aug 21st, 2007 by CEO | 0

This recipe is based on Party Pesto Squares by Pampered Chef. Instead of topping the squares with tomato and green onion, I step up the flavor by piling on the bruschetta. My infatuation with tomato and basil lives on! By the way, Jocelyn’s words for tomato and pesto are “may-mo” and “pay-po”.
Ingredients
1 roll round buttery [...]
